25th February 2025
I'm thrilled to announce that the book I've been working on for so long has been published by Affirm Press on the 25th March 2025.
Framed by the turning of the seasons in our small suburban garden, Bloomer documents the year in which I
turned seventy.
Memoir threads through meditations on aspects of ageing, from its hidden grief and potential for loneliness to our
relationship with the past and with our own mortality.
Bloomer -- a gorgeously produced hardback -- is an optimistic coming-of-old-age book in which Boomers emerge as Bloomers, people not at the end of things but still on their way. Intent on embracing a late-life flourishing.
Bloomer's publication was celebrated with a joint book launch and exhibition of the exquisite artwork in the book by South Australian multi-award winning artist Margaret Ambridge.
The Exhibition and launch was on Thursday 3rd April 2025.
The Panel Discussion: "We Need to Talk About Ageism" was on Saturday 5th April 2025.
Venue: Mezzanine 55, 55 Rundle Street, Kent Town, Adelaide, South Australia.
